Every year Security Serious holds the Unsung Heroes Awards, with categories ranging from “Godmother / Godfather of Security” through to “Best Security Awareness Campaign”. I was genuinely surprised to learn that I was in the running for a Security Leader / Mentor award.
“The winner of this award will be someone in industry who leads a team or mentors individuals, taking the time to show them the ropes and ensure those coming through the ranks are prepared for the future.”
I was in Spain hiking this bad boy….
so missed the event but later learnt that, although I didn’t win I was “Highly Commended”, I even got a trophy woohoo!
The lovely Alan Jenkins from Decipher Cyber Consulting Partners was voted as the winner. I’ll take coming second to Alan!
It’s a very humbling experience to be held in that regard by my peers.
